Request for Work Accommodation

Employees who are in need of an accommodation to fulfill the essential functions of their job will need to complete a formal request for accommodation as provided under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The employee must complete a Request for Accommodation form and submit official medical documentation as outlined in the instructions on the form.

As stated in Mercer's FMLA policy and in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA), as amended, Mercer University provides up to 12 workweeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees for specified family and medical reasons during a rolling 12-month calendar or up to 26 workweeks for the care of a covered service member during a single 12-month period. The leave may be paid, unpaid or a combination of paid and unpaid leave as specified in this policy. Even if an employee has enough paid leave accruals to cover absences, if the need for leave qualifies as FMLA leave, this policy will apply.
 

Employees must provide at least 30 days advance notice when the need for FMLA leave is foreseeable. When 30 days’ notice is not possible, the employee must provide notice as soon as possible.   If you are in need of leave under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), please notify Melissa Pollock by email or by phone at 478-301-2777.

Effective August 1, 2018, all non-faculty staff position descriptions must be completed in the new PageUp online system. The Word version PDQ will no longer be maintained.

If you are a supervisor and have never used the online system to enter a PD, you will need to contact Ashley Hunnicutt (x. 2470) to schedule a time for training. 

If you are a non-faculty staff employee, you can view your position description online by following these steps:

  1. Go to https://mercer.pageuppeople.com.
  2. Log in with Mercer network username/password.
  3. Click on “My Position Description.”

If you do not see your position description online, please work with your supervisor to get it added to the online system.

 

All of the following are required for employees leaving the University.
